How can I use the OCR Add-in?
The OCR Add-in can be used in many ways to take physical paper documents online as well as recover document information which would have to be manually re-typed if the OCR Add-in was not used. The following sample applications provide a few ways in which the Add-in can be utilized.

OCR-Add-in Features
The OCR Add-in for deskUNPDF opens up new ways in which deskUNPDF can be used. Optical Character Recognition allows you to convert images based PDF's as well as scanned documents into usable working electronic documents.
Convert image based PDF's to searchable text
Image based PDF's cannot be searched or "read" or edited by a word processor. The deskUNPDF OCR Add-in converts the image into an editable document. When installed with deskUNPDF it is there when you need it all in one application.
Scan to PDF
With the scanner functionality you also get "Scan to PDF" capability to scan in documents and email as high quality PDFs. PDF's can can be either image or text-based, you pick! If needed, additional images or scanned documents can be appended and merged into a single PDF.

A built-in scanner tool provides direct scanning into the OCR module for a one-step OCR conversion
Adjustable Quality and Performance Settings
Refine your OCR settings to best meet your needs. High quality images/scans can be set to convert more quickly,while lessor quality images/scans can be best extracted with a more accurate setting. Settings are also available to prompt users if OCR should be used on documents containing images.
Rotate Scanned Pages
Easily adjust documents incorrectly oriented documents with page rotation.
Preview Window with Page Management
The scanner tool includes a pane showing all the pages of the active document. Right-click functions provide page removal, page re-arrangement, and page rotation.
